Fairey Overdrive: We are proud to offer Land Rover's only factory-authorized overdrive, the Fairey. Rugged time-proven, and reliable. This fully-synchromesh unit may be used in all gears and in both two-and-four-wheel drive, giving your Land-Rover 16 forward speeds and four reverse. Can be "split-shifted" on long mountainous roads where the engine lacks the necessary power in fourth gear, but is over-revving in third. Decreases engine wear by reducing RPM's at any given road speed. Unlike other units, the Fairey overdrive can be engaged and disengaged "on the move". Install in three to four hours with ordinary hand tools.
