1980 Land-Rover Series III Ambulance with 64,000 original miles on the clock, available for possible use as an awesome camper or four-wheel-drive mobile workshop. The body work is 99% straight [not quite perfect], and the vehicle is in good running order with dual fuel tanks, dual sway bars, wide offset wheels, free wheeling hubs, dual-sheave pulley system with heavy-duty 8-blade Military fan & twin belt drive, military oil cooler, dual circuit power assisted brakes, extreme-duty Salisbury rear axle & heavy-duty 24-splined military front axle with SELECTRO freewheel hubs, blackout/security glass in rear windows with additional night/blackout curtains, internal and external cabinets everywhere, including lockable externally-accessible cabinets. All doors lock & 7 all keys are included. If the ambulance body configuration is not attractive then we're also offering a "GS" [general services]rear body tub as an alternative, which would make up into a soft top, hard top or pickup machine. The GS lower body is offered as a straight-across trade for the ambulance body. (You make the trade with our assistance with the lift off.) Whatever roof you might fit would be up to you, but with the GS tub it could be fitted out as either a two-or-three-door machine with either soft or hard, or pickup top, with maximum total passenger capacity of 11. You'd have to be 7'8" tall to not fit in one of the bunks!! Over 952 cubic feet of useable space in the rear cabin, so camper space for two adults and 2-3 children is possible, although probably things could get a bit friendly. Seems mechanically very sound. Starts right on the button, even when sitting for a long time, with quiet engine & gearbox, axles, etc.. No problems detected, but no long-term experience of this unusual vehicle, I must confess. Unusual design maximizes interior space while assuring minimal exterior dimension [hence optimal clearance in tight places]. Roomy enough inside for a small, self-contained workshop out of the weather [so room for work bench, lockers for equipment & tools, or camping gear, tents, etc. [including exterior lockable & non-lockable ones]
