This superlative Land-Rover was beautifully restored approximately 6,000 miles ago and remains in wonderful condition throughout. The base vehicle is a machine which, as far back as we have been able to determine, was originally a Washington car. It is number 250 of only 811 ever produced six-cylinder machines which were specially developed for the North American market by Land-Rover, Ltd.. At the end of the 1967 model; year all 109’s ceased exportation to the North American area. Regrettably, the vast majority of the original sixes have now suffered catastrophic engine conversions, but this is one of the few original "N.A.D.A." sixes remaining. Its engine was known to have been rebuilt by the Seattle dealer, Rowland Motors, as closely as we can determine about 15,000 miles ago, although the actual mileage is not verifiable. Irregardless the engine runs very nicely. Upon receipt of this unusual machine, British Northwest set about undertaking its restoration, and replaced the gear box with a fully rebuilt unit. We also fitted a freshly rebuilt rear differential. The vehicle was then stripped completely and fully and correctly repainted both inside and out in the original factory Pastel Green. The vehicle, when purchased, had been carpeted but British Northwest commissioned the restoration of the carpeting in a marine carpeting material in cocoa brown. A full hydraulic system rebuild has since taken place and both the fuel tank and radiator have been fully and professionally restored. British Northwest also fitted a new eight-thousand pound Ramsey electric drum-and-cable winch, with factory lifting and towing rings, and at the same time the windscreen wipers were updated to the improved two-speed type. All spares utilized have been Genuine Rover, original equipment, or better. This vehicle starts, accelerates, steers, corners and brakes magnificently, in fact it can be said with confidence that this "six" is probably the nicest we’ve had in our 35-year history. Additionally, this Land-Rover has been in the direct and exclusive care of British Northwest for the past 16 years. We are the recipients of more than 30 international prizes for our restoration work. There are many upgrades and improvements which have not been mentioned.
